History Of Henna Art

In ancient time people used crushed henna leaves for direct application on skin, but the results were not outstanding. As time went by, people started creating intricate designs previously not possible through crushed henna leaves by grinding sun dried henna leaves and sieving it to obtain a fine powder. This powder was then mixed with water, and applied with the help of fine wooden sticks to create designs. With the advent of new technology, henna is now marketed in henna pens made out of plastic sheets or cello paper which has resulted in much finer and intricate designs. Medical syringes are also used in some countries like Morocco to create deigns.
